CBYX

CBYX
CBYX is a student exchange program that is jointly funded by the German Bundestag and the United States Congress which both lend their names to its full name: Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange, or in German PPP or Parlamentarisches Patenschafts-Programm.  The costs that the scholarship pays for include the exchange exchange tuition, language lessons, and orientations. There is no stipend so supplemental living costs are up to the student. The program is administered by five different exchange organizations based on region. They are: AFS, FLAG, CIEE, YFU, and AYUSA. For AFS it is a three step process for selection. The first step is a series of six short essays as well as information about yourself and your grades. The next step is an interview. There is both an individual interview and a group interview held on the same day in the same location. After that you wait until Finalists and Alternates are announced. Once that happens there is a final in home interview to help determine your host family placement and to address any concerns that the parents and student may have.
